Asthma and
allergies often go hand-in-hand. Allergic asthma is a type of asthma
that is triggered by allergens such as pollen or mold spores. According
to the American Academy of Allergy, Asthma and Immunology, half of the
20 million Americans with asthma have allergic asthma. Dr. Stephen
Murphey will present an overview of allergies that cause asthma or
trigger asthma attacks and the current research and treatment options
that are available. Dr. Murphey received the National Outstanding
Volunteer Clinical Faculty Award from the American Academy of Allergy,
Asthma, and Immunology. Registration for this program will begin in
April 28.
