Three Rivers Community Foundation (TRCF), a non-profit organization promoting "Change, not charity," is now accepting grant applications through their Teens 4 Change (T4C) program. Ranging from $250 to $2,000, the grant funds are aimed to support youth-led projects or projects designed specifically for youth that promote social change. The deadline for the proposals is March 19, 2012.
The applications will be reviewed and decided on by the T4C board, which is made up of 10 Allegheny County high school students. T4C is a year-long program for teens in Southwestern Pennsylvania aimed at increasing youth participation in philanthropy through grantmaking and fundraising.
T4C board members are chosen from local youth ranging from ages 13 to 19 to learn a variety of skills including: meeting planning and facilitation, outreach, public speaking, program planning, proposal evaluation, and group decision-making. The teen board members reach out to other youths to encourage involvement in community change.
