The first day of school is Aug. 27, less than two weeks away!

The new school year in the North Hills School District will get underway for more than 4,200 students on Aug. 27. Here's a quick rundown onw what you'll need to know before you or your child heads back.
Community Pep Rally on August 22
North Hills School District will host its annual Community Pep Rally at 7 p.m. on August 22 at Martorelli Stadium.
The 2012 fall varsity girls’ and boys’ soccer, football, golf, girls’ volleyball, cross country, girls’ tennis, slow pitch softball and inline roller hockey teams will be introduced. The event also will feature performances by the North Hills marching band and cheerleaders.

Admission to the event is free. Refreshments and North Hills attire and spirit items will be available for purchase from some of the district's booster and parent organizations.

If you have one or more students transitioning to a new school building next year, please be sure to update your E-Link preferences. This can be done at any time by simply clicking the "Update Profile/Email Address" link at the bottom of any e-link. NH Season Football Tickets on Sale on August 20
Season tickets for the 2012 home football games will go on sale on August 20. Last year's ticket holders seats will be held until August 24. If you do not contact the athletic office by August 24, the seats will be released to the public. Ticket prices are $7 per game or $35 per seat for the season. Payment will be accepted in cash or check only. Tickets will be on sale weekdays in the athletic office at North Hills Senior High at 53 Rochester Road in Ross Township from 7:30 to 11:30 a.m. and 1 p.m. to 3 p.m. For more information, contact Nataly Price at 412-318-1437.
Apply Online for 2012-13 Free and Reduced Price Meals
Eligible families can apply online for free and reduced price school meals through Pennsylvania's COMPASS website. Your children may qualify for reduced price or free meals if your household income falls at or below the limits found on the district website. North Hills School District offers breakfast at a cost of $1.25 and lunch at a cost of $2.50 every day. Those who qualify can receive these meals for free or at a reduced price. If you have questions or need more information, contact the Food Services Department at 412-318-1053.
