Northland Library's Director's Corner: Fall Schedule Change and Budget Adoption

An update from Northland Public Library Director Sandra Collins about the library's new fall hours and budget adoption.

Here is September's message from NPL's director, Sandra Collins:

"For Northland, September means a return to opening 7 days a week and the adoption of the proposed budget for the following year by our Board of Trustees. Our annual budget is the financial framework that outlines how the services Northland provides are funded. Although services appear to be free, you are acutally paying for your use of Northland through your taxes. Northland's income comes from the following sources: 61% from Bradford Woods, Franklin Park, Marshall, McCandless, and Ross; 19% from the Regional Asset District; 10% from the Commonwealth of PA; 1% from Gaming Table revenue; 9% is self-generated (from late fees, room rentals, book sale revenue, etc.)"

Library hours have changed! The library is currently operating under its fall and winter schedule:

Monday - Thursday: 9 am to 9 pm

Friday: 9 am to 6 pm
