Election Day Comes Early in North Hills School District
Students in the elementary, junior, and senior high schools took part in a mock election.
Students in the North Hills School district are learning what it's like to take part in a presidential campaign. From campaign speeches, to filling out ballots, to counting the vote, they've gotten to take part in a district-wide mock election.
Students in the junior and senior high even had to register to vote.
The secondary social studies department and the Elementary GATE department spearheaded the effort, even as going as far as assigning 538 mock electoral votes to the district's six buildings.

The breakdown worked like this:
- Senior High : 174
- Junior High: 93
- Ross Elementary: 75
- McIntyre Elementary: 75
- Highcliff Elementary: 62
- West View Elementary: 62
A candidate has to win at least three buildings to win the election. Results will be announced tomorrow and we will post them on North Hills Patch once all of the votes are counted.
