Free Professional Development - Waynesburg University Teaching with Primary Sources Program - Spring Institute

Waynesburg, PA- The Waynesburg University Teaching with Primary Sources program will host Teaching with Primary Sources Level 1 Spring Institute.  Teachers interested in techniques to address the newly adopted Common Core State Standards are encouraged to attend.  Common Core State Standards focus on student literacy, critical thinking, and application of content knowledge in the classroom.  The Teaching with Primary Sources program equips teachers with methods and tools from the Library’s digitized collection of primary sources to address this critical need. Teachers and librarians engage in model learning activities and collaborate with colleagues in pairs and small groups.  The workshop builds teaching skills necessary for leading students in the development of literacy skills across the curriculum.

Teaching with Primary Sources Level 1 will be held Saturday, April 13 & 27 from 9:00 am to 3:00 pm at the Waynesburg University North Hills Campus and lunch will be provided.  The Spring Institute is open to teachers, librarians and professors.  This is a free program and participants will earn 12 PDE Act 48 Activity hours.  Visit https://www.surveymonkey.com/s/Level1-Registration to register for this two day workshop.
