This annual event will be held rain or shine at the Troy Hill Citizens park in the Troy Hill neighborhood of the City of Pittsburgh. For those not familiar with Troy Hill, it is located above Route 28 near the H.J. Heinz plant. Take Troy Hill Road, past the Penn Brewery, around North Catholic HS to Lowrie St, past the Unimart. Claim and Hatteras Streets. (Please note if your GPS or other map takes you up 28 to 31st bridge to Rialto, that this portion of Rialto (aka Pig Alley, Pig Hill, is closed indefinitely) you must take Troy Hill from Northside or Wicklines from Spring Garden or Mt. Troy Road from Reserve Township to get to Troy Hill)
How it works:
Just show up with your potted plants (with soil) including, veggies, annuals, perennials, herbs, etc. You can then participate by swapping your plants for others plants in rounds. It's a great way to build a perennial garden without spending money on new plants!!!
