Fallen Tree Pulls Down Power Lines, Damages Porch

A massive tree branch slammed into the front porch of a home at 508 Bellevue Terrace in Ross Monday afternoon. The owner, who was at home at the time, was not hurt. 

The fallen limb also pulled down the electric, telephone, and cable tv service lines into the home. 

Ross police blocked off the Bellevue Terrace at both ends until utility workers could cut the power to the fallen lines.

The tree appeared to be nearly split in half.

"The owner had called a tree trimming service earlier," said a neighbor, David Weaver. "She knew the tree had problems, and she's pretty distraught that this happened."
