A swarm of spooky characters will take North Park by storm on Saturday, October 26th, for the Fifth Annual Oxford Athletic Club Freaky 5K race. Pets, kids and adults are invited to participate in the area’s largest costume run sponsored by Pittsburgh Three Rivers Marathon, Inc. Runner check-in and race day registration will begin at 8:00 a.m. at the North Park Ice Rink.
The Oxford Athletic Club Freaky 5K and Massage Envy presents Haunted Hill 10K races will start at 10:00 AM, following the half-mile Petrifying Pet Walk at 9:00 a.m. and the NEW one-mile Trick-or-Treat Trot for kids at 9:30 a.m.
All participating witches, vampires, goblins and other creatures will receive ghoulish goodies like a race shirt and goody bag. Participants are also invited to attend a post-race Halloween party that will feature free food and drinks as well as Halloween-themed activities. A pet/owner look-alike contest will be held and awards for the top finishers, best costumes, cutest pet and best pet costume will be handed out at this family-friendly party.
