Free Professional Development Event - Teaching with Primary Sources (TPS) program at Waynesburg University

Teachers, librarians, and professors are invited to participate in a free
professional development event offered by the Teaching with Primary Sources
(TPS) program at Waynesburg University.  TPS and the Pennsylvania Core
Standards
will be held on Saturdays, September 28 and October 12, from 9:00
am to 3:00 pm at the Waynesburg University Southpointe Campus.  Lunch
will be provided.  Participants will earn up to 15 PDE Act 48 Activity
hours.

Teachers interested in techniques to address the newly adopted Common Core
State Standards are encouraged to attend.  Pennsylvania Core State

Standards focus on student literacy, critical thinking, and application of
content knowledge in the classroom.

The Teaching with Primary Sources (TPS) program equips teachers with methods
and tools from the Library’s digitized collection of primary sources to address
this critical need. Participating educators engage in model learning activities
and collaborate with colleagues in pairs and small groups.  The institute
builds teaching skills necessary for leading students in the development of
literacy skills across the curriculum.  Register for the two-day TPS
and the Pennsylvania Core Standards workshop at: https://www.surveymonkey.com/s/Level1-Registration.

If you have questions about the workshop or would like to learn more contact
Sue Wise at 724-852-3377 or swise@waynesburg.edu.
