Man Charged In Strip District Shooting Death Back In Pittsburgh
Authorities have returned Howard Hawkins to Pittsburgh. He is charged in connection with the February shooting of Ahmir Tuli, 18.

PITTSBURGH, PA — A man apprehended in California earlier this month in connection with a Strip District shooting death has been extradited to Pittsburgh. Howard Hawkins, 46, of Pittsburgh, is now in the Allegheny County Jail.
Hawkins, 46, of Pittsburgh, was arrested July 7 in North Hollywood, CA. He is charged with homicide in the the death of Ahmir Tuli, 18, a 2020 North Hills High School graduate.
Tuli was shot to death outside of Preeti's Pit, his mother's bar, in the 2700 block of Penn Avenue on Feb. 21. According to police, Hawkins shot Tuli in the head shortly after being kicked out of the bar following an argument.

Last month, police arrested Chayla Robinson, 40, of Brentwood, whom police said is Hawkins'
girlfriend. She is charged with hindering apprehension or prosecution after allegedly driving Hawkins away from the shooting scene and dropping him off at a friend's house.
