McKnight Road Paving Project Begins Friday

A portion of McKnight Road in McCandless will be repaved as part of a $7.4 million upgrade of the road.

ROSS TOWNSHIP, PA - North Hills motorists, beware: A $7.3 million project to improve nearly three miles of McKnight Road begins Friday with the resurfacing of a McCandless portion of the heavily-traveled road.

Overnight lane restrictions will be in effect from 6 p.m. to 6 a.m. Mondays through Saturdays as milling and paving occurs on McKnight between Perrymont Road and Perry Highway. Work requiring restrictions will only happen in one direction at a time, beginning with the southbound right lane. PennDOT says at least one lane of traffic will remain open at all times.

The resurfacing project should be completed by the end of October. The entire project, which includes drainage and guide rail improvements, curb replacement, sign and signal improvements and pavement marking installation, should be finished in August 2018.
