Mock Election Results from North Hills School District

The campaigning is over and the votes have been counted.

If the students in the North Hills school district are a bellwether for the nation, President Barack Obama will win reelection next Tuesday.

After taking part in campaign speeches, filling out ballots, exit polling and finally counting the vote, students learned today the results of their mock election.

The secondary social studies department and the Elementary GATE department spearheaded the effort, and assigned 538 mock electoral votes to the district's six buildings.

Here are the vote totals and the corresponding electoral votes awarded to each candidate per school: 

  • Senior High :(Obama 325, Romney 312) Obama 174 
  • Junior High: (Romney 353, Obama 342) Romney 93 
  • Ross Elementary: (Obama 270, Romney 253) Obama 75 
  • McIntyre Elementary: (Obama 155, Romney 79) Obama 75 
  • Highcliff Elementary: 62 (Obama 158 - Romney 88) Obama 62 
  • West View Elementary: 62 (Obama 144, Romney 94) Obama 62 

In total, the President won 445 electoral votes and 1394 popular votes.

Governor Romney picked up 93 electoral votes and 1179 popular votes.
