North Hills 8th Grader Wins National Artistic Honor

Emma Gallagher's work impressed the national judges.

ROSS TOWNSHIP, PA - North Hills Middle School eighth-grader Emma Gallagher won national accolades for her artistic abilities as a 2018 Scholastic Art & Writing Awards National Medalist. Emma’s photo, “Liquid Crystals” was selected by creative professional as among the nation’s most accomplished work.

Less than 1 percent of artists out of nearly 350,000 submissions to the competition are awarded to the highest honor and only 3,300 medals are awarded nationwide.

Gold Key Awards, the state-level competition recognition, were awarded to eighth-graders Kevin Tian and Quinn Peters following the regional Allies for Young Artists & Writers competition at La Roche College’s Zappala Center.
