North Hills Defeats Fox Chapel 31-7

Indians rallied after giving up 80-yard touchdown on Fox Chapel's first play from scrimmage.

Homecoming weekend was kicked off to a great start after the North Hills Indians 31-7 victory over the Fox Chapel Foxes. Josh Hulbert and Jordan Blackmon lead the way for the Indians offense and helped give North Hills their fifth victory of the season. Fox Chapel falls to 1-5.

But the game did not start out well for North Hills. After a Wayne Carney touchback, Fox Chapel did not waste any time getting their biggest play of the evening. An 80-yard touchdown run by quarterback Brandon Mitchell quieted the Martorelli stadium crowd on the first play of the game. North Hills responded with a scoring drive, which featured Josh Hulbert's first touchdown run of the night. Hulbert finished the night with two touchdowns, which came on runs of 14 and 22 yards, giving him his eighth and ninth touchdowns on the season.

Jordan Blackmon played a vital role in the North Hills success scoring two touchdowns of his own. After limited playing time in the Central Catholic and Butler games, along with missing the entire Shaler game, Blackmon has been key to the Indians success these past two weeks. His 8-yard touchdown late in the second quarter gave North Hills a 14-7 lead, which would go onto be the winning touchdown for the Indians.

Blackmon sealed the victory halfway through the fourth quarter with his fifth touchdown of the season, this one coming from 14 yards.

Wayne Carney made his first field goal of the season, and finished the night with four touchbacks. He currently stands at sixteen touchbacks on the season, and is one away from tying the school record (set by Anthony Valeriano in 2008).
