North Hills Gas Prices: Where Are The Cheapest Fill-Ups?

BP, Shell and Sunoco among the best options.

For the cheapest fill-up in the North Hills, you can’t beat BP.

The BP on Lowries Run Road near Rochester Road is selling a gallon of regular unleaded for $2.39, according to GasBuddy.com. The next most inexpensive places at the pump are charing $2.47 a gallon. They include:

  • Shell, Perry Highway at Center Avenue.
  • Sunoco, Perrysville Avenue at Bellevue Road
  • Marathon, Perry Highway at Center Avenue
  • 7-11, Perry Highway at Highland Avenue

The average price per gallon in the Pittsburgh area is $2.52, according to AAA. That’s 45 cents higher than a year ago.

The Pittsburgh average is higher than the $2.48 average across the state, which is higher than the current national average of $2.29 per gallon.

In Pennsylvania, an 8-cent per gallon gas tax increase went into effect in January. The state’’s wholesale tax is 58 cents per gallon, the highest such levy in the country.
