Folklore of Western Pennsylvania is the theme for tonight's free
meeting. Join author and historian Thomas White as he discusses the
legends and folklore of western Pennsylvania. White will examine the
legends and demonstrate how they reflect the history and evolving
culture of our region. Hear the story of the whispering dead beneath the
Black Cross, the phantoms of Pittsburgh’s steel mills, and the ghosts
and cults that allegedly stalk Blue Mist Road. Learn the truth about the
legendary steel worker Joe Magarac, Judge Reddick’s contest with the
Devil, and the Lost Bomber of the Monongahela.
