North Hills High School Alumnus Win Prestigious Air Force Award

Former Ross resident Cory Yost honored for job performance, leadership abilities.

ROSS TOWNSHIP, PA - U.S. Air Force Staff Sgt. Cory Yost, a 2010 North Hills High School graduate, has been named the Air Education and Training Command’s Force Support Airman of the Year. The award is given to the command’s enlisted airmen for displaying outstanding job performance, leadership, community involvement and personal achievements.

Yost, formerly of Ross, joined the Air Force in 2011 and is currently stationed at Wright-Patterson Air Force Base in Dayton, Ohio, where he works as part of the Air Force Institute of Technology’s (AFIT) Commander Support Staff. He has ranked first out of 11 airmen and has received the AFIT and AU Airman of the Quarter Award.

Yost is a graduate of the Airman Leadership School and is pursuing a degree in human resources from the Community College of the Air Force. An active community volunteer, he ensured safety procedures were followed for a Junior Science Symposium with more than 1,000 participants. He also devotes time to the March of Dimes and Habitat for Humanity.
