North Hills High School Hires New Head Football Coach

A familiar name will be coaching the North Hills High School Indians in 2026.

ROSS TOWNSHIP, PA — The North Hills School District has named a storied alumnus as its next head football coach.

School directors on Thursday approved the hiring of Eric Kasperowicz, a 1994 North Hills graduate who was a four-year starting quarterback for the Indiana. While earning Parade All-American honors, he led North Hills to both WPIAL and PIAA state championships during his senior season.

Kasperowicz went to to play linebacker at the University of Pittsburgh.

According to the district website, he has been a teacher in the district since 1999 and currently is a North Hills High School gifted education teacher.

“As an alumnus, former coach, and current teacher in the building, Eric understands North Hills in a way few candidates could,” superintendent Patrick Mannarino said in a statement.“His daily presence allows him to build strong relationships with students and provide consistent leadership for our program.”

Kasperowicz previously served as head coach at Pine-Richland High School, where he compiled an 85-18 record, won four WPIAL championships and two PIAA state titles.

He later worked as an offensive analyst at the University of Pittsburgh before being named head coach at Mars Area High School. He was there for the past four seasons.

Kasperowicz takes over for Brody Zangaro, who served as the interim coach this past season in place of Pat Carey, who took a year off. Carey resigned from his coaching role last month but remains a physical education teacher in the district.
