North Hills High School Senior Plays In National Band Ensemble

Senior Emily Kaup performed at recent National Association for Music Education event.

ROSS TOWNSHIP, PA - Emily Kaup is receiving national accolades for her French horn playing. The North Hills High School senior recently was chosen to perform in the 2017 National Association for Music Education all-eastern honors band during the organization’s eastern division convention in Atlantic City, N.J.

Kaup was recommended for the orchestra by a Pennsylvania Music Educators Association representative and then selected by a committee comprised of music educators from the eastern part of the country. She spent three days rehearing with a prominent conductor to prepare for her performance at the convention and was one of only 150 students selected to perform.

This isn’t the first time Kaup has been recognized her musical abilities. For the past three years, she has been part of the state’s premier high school ensembles and has performed at the music educators association’s all-state conference.
