North Hills Junior Wins Volunteer Award from Local Nonprofit

Peter Gaus was honored at the local nonprofit organization's Celebration of Caring event on Oct. 5 at the Grand Hall at the Priory.

North Hills Senior High junior Peter Gaus, 17, recently received the Celebration of Caring Award from Northside Common Ministries for his dedicated volunteerism.

He was honored at the local nonprofit organization’s Celebration of Caring event on Oct. 5 at the Grand Hall at the Priory.

For the past several years, Peter has helped serve meals to residents at Pleasant Valley Shelter.

“While other youth are at the shelter as their schedule permits, Peter is always there. He is a dedicated and reliable companion to the youth ministry coordinator of this project,” said Jay Poliziani of Northside Common Ministries.

“Peter is an amazing young man.  His service and dedication to the men of Pleasant Valley Shelter are truly outstanding.”

Peter is the son of Tim and Judy Gaus of Ross Township.
