North Hills Just Misses Win in 1-Point Contest Against Seneca Valley
The Raiders defeat the Indians by a score of 69-68 in the game's final minutes.
It all came down to one point.
On Tuesday, the boys varsity basketball team celebrated its first section win with an at-home victory over the rival North Hills Indians. The final score was 69-68.
Near the end of the first period, Seneca Valley's Chad Albert broke a 10-point tie game by icing a three-pointer. The game went into the second quarter with the Raiders ahead, 14-13.

Easton Bazzoli, Alex Maxfield and Albert were among the Raiders who scored points in the second quarter. As the second half drew to a close, Seneca Valley led 36-27.
After regrouping during halftime, the Indians were on the warpath in the third quarter. North Hills pulled even with the Raiders one minute into the fourth quarter, tying the game at 52 points each.

The lead seesawed back and forth between the Raiders and the Indians before Seneca Valley's Austin Bream hit a foul shot to tie the game at 56 points. A two-pointer by Matt Smith followed. Moments later, Bazzoli hit a three-pointer to push the Raiders ahead 62-58.
With 30 seconds left on the clock, the Indians were within three points of taking over the Raiders' lead. After two points in the North Hills bucket, the gap was shorted to one point with five seconds left.
The Raiders maintained possession of the ball and held on to the lead, closing out the nail-biter at 69-68.
The Raiders travel next to Shaler on Friday to take on the Titans.
