North Hills Kmart To Become U-Haul Facility
The store was one of more than a dozen properties purchased from the bankrupt Sears corporation, according to a report.

WEST VIEW, PA - The Kmart in West View Park Shopping Center is one of 13 Sears-owned properties being purchased by U-Haul for $62 million. The transaction means one of the Pittsburgh area’s few remaining Kmarts will be converted into a self-storage and moving facility.
SpareFoot.com, a website devoted to news regarding the self-storage industry, reported that the store purchases nationwide - 12 Kmarts and one Sears - are being handled by a U-Haul subsidiary, AMERCO Real Estate. The purchases can be found in court papers related to Sear’s October bankruptcy filing.
When Sears filed for Chapter 11 bankruptcy, it announced the closure of Kmart stores in Shaler, Pleasant Hills and New Kensington. Those stores are expected to be shuttered by the end of December, as is the more recently announced closure of the North Versailles store.

U-Haul did not indicate in the court documents when it will begin converting its new acquisitions into U-Haul locations.
