North Hills' New Gym Scoreboard A Freebie For District

Advertising revenues from a dozen local businesses defrayed the scoreboard cost.

ROSS TOWNSHIP, PA - A new scoreboard has debuted in the North Hills School District’s most heavily used indoor athletics space and it didn’t cost the district a cent.

Twelve local companies agreed to three-year sponsorship deals that allowed the district to purchase the scoreboard in the North Hills Middle School annex gymnasium at no cost to the community. The scoreboard will be formally dedicated Jan. 16 during the girls and boys basketball game doubleheader against North Allegheny Senior High School. The girls game tips off at 6 p.m., the boys game at 7:30.
