North Hills Plans 59th Annual Marching Band Festival

ROSS TOWNSHIP, PA - In a tradition nearly six decades long, the 59th annual North Hills Marching Band Festival will be held on Sept. 14 at Martorelli Stadium. Ten local high school marching bands are scheduled to perform including the North Hills Band.

Other schools represented at the event will be Avonworth, Bethel Park, Chartiers Valley, Ft. Cherry, Ft. LeBoeuf, Northgate, Sto-Rox, South Fayette and South Park.

North Hills’ performances will feature “Renegade,” arranged specifically for this year’s band and
part of the pregame show, and crowd-pleasing, throwback favorites from Woodstock including “All Along the Watchtower,” “Pinball Wizard,” and “With a Little Help From My Friends.” The band’s march features music by John Williams.

The festival, sponsored by the North Hills Instrumental Parents’ Association, begins at 7 p.m. Admission is $8. Children age 5 and under are free.

Refreshments and other items will be available for purchase.

Additional parking is available at the Park & Ride lot located just north of the Perrysville Avenue exit of I-279. In the event of rain, the festival will be moved to the North Hills Middle
School gym.
