North Hills School District To Celebrate Arts In Style
Arts Alive event features student work from a variety of mediums such as pottery, paintings, drawings, sculpture and photographs.

ROSS PA - It would be easy for an event that’s been around for nearly half a century to become as stale as a month-old loaf of bread. But North Hills School District officials are determined to keep the annual Arts Alive extravaganza fresh.
A host of new additions are planned for the 45th Arts Alive program,, to be held May 5 from 5 p.m. to 9 p.m. at North Hills High School. The free event celebrates the artistic accomplishments of students from all grade levels and features mediums such as paintings, pottery, photographs, sculptures, drawings and writing.

- District music teachers taking to the auditorium stage to perform several musical numbers with a constellation-sky theme.
- A middle school Mother’s Day flower sale benefitting North Hills Community Outreach. The sale features plants are grown by family and consumer science students in pottery containers made by art students with three-dimensional printed tags created by technology and education students.
- Cultural fusion dining options in the cafeteria from the World Language Department.
- A juried exhibition from high school artists and pottery, photography and film demonstrations. Some artwork will be available for purchase.
- A sculpture contest featuring dreamcatchers designed by various clubs.
- A game fest showcasing board and video games that district students created.
- Quilts crafted by high school family and consumer sciences students.
- Choral and instrument performances, and poetry readings.
