PA AG Notified Of Ross Police Student Sex Video Controversy

The Pennsylvania Attorney General's Office is examining a Ross police officer's handling of a sex video involving a local minor.

ROSS TOWNSHIP, PA — The Pennsylvania Attorney General's Office has been notified of a Ross police sergeant's conduct involving a sexually explicit video of a North Hills high school student. The sergeant is accused in a letter the police department union sent to township commissioners of sharing the video with other officers not involved in his investigation of it.

The letter reportedly criticizes Chief Joseph Ley for not taking action when notified about the alleged misconduct.

Ross Commission Chairman Dan DeMarco told WTAE-TV that commissioners are aware of the allegations and that the matter had been referred to Attorney General Josh Shapiro's office for investigation.

KDKA-TV reported that the union letter says the sergeant might have broken the law by showing the video, as that action is considered sexual abuse of a child. That crime is a felony.
