Parkway North Restrictions Ending This Weekend
North Hills motorists finally will get some relief from months of construction along I-279.

ROSS TOWNSHIP, PA - The Parkway North will get back to normal this weekend. Restrictions on the southbound portion of the parkway (I-279) will be lifted and the normal traffic configuration restored, PennDOT announced.
Also, the Venture Street off-ramp and Cemetery Lane on-ramp at the Perrysville Avenue interchange will reopen.
To facilitate the changes, the HOV lanes will close to traffic from Saturday morning until approximately 11 a.m. on Sunday as crews install and remove barriers, remove signs and perform other work.

The moves don’t mean parkway traffic will return entirely to normal. Short-term, off-peak daylight and overnight restrictions will occur for the rest of the year, and southbound lane restrictions will return for eight weekends so crews can perform paving operations and other maintenance work.
The parkway is undergoing an $88 million rehabilitation. The southbound lanes are being upgraded this year and the northbound lanes will have similar work performed in 2018.
