Patch Readers Pick: Worst Ross Intersections and What PennDOT Plans to Do About Them

When asked last week which intersections in Ross Township and West View were the worst, readers of North Hills Patch mentioned the following intersections the most.

1. The Siebert Road entrance to the McKnight Siebert Shopping Center. One reader wrote "That is a mess! People can access that shopping center off McKnight rather than trying to turn into the shopping center."
2. Lowries Run and Rochester Roads, which prompted this comment: "One plays a game of chicken guessing who is going to pull out in front of who. Courtesy is the only manner that enables traffic to flow during rush hours."
3. Perry Highway, Three Degree, and Sewickley Oakmont Roads. One reader described it this way: "With lights it isn't really dangerous, just frustrating, especially when you sit watching no one moving for 45 seconds because of badly timed lights."

All three intersections are maintained by PennDOT, so Patch forwarded your comments to Press Officer Jim Struzzi. 

"There are no immediate plans for these intersections," said Struzzi. "We have discussed the Perry Highway, Three Degree Road, and Sewickley-Oakmont Road intersection with Ross Township regarding possible enhancements pending the availability of additional resources in the future."
