Peoples Road Reopens At Last
But the traffic headaches at the Peoples-Babcock Boulevard intersection aren't yet over.
ROSS TOWNSHIP, PA - Good news for motorists: After nearly four months, Peoples Road has reopened to traffic at the intersection with Babcock Boulevard.
Peoples was closed to traffic at Babcock on July 5 due to a culvert issue impacting the roadway. Temporary repairs were completed Friday and the roadway reopened at approximately 4 p.m., according to PennDOT. Design work is ongoing for a permanent repair.
The ramp that carries traffic from Peoples to southbound Babcock will remain closed. Traffic from Peoples to southbound Babcock will turn right at the traffic signal. Vehicles over 36 feet long will be prohibited from turning right and will be detoured via Evergreen Road to McKnight Road to Babcock.
