PERIODONTICS:
WHAT YOU SHOULD KNOW
People often make jokes about visits to the dentist or their childhood
experiences with dentistry, but many people do not understand the
importance of annual dental checkups and the fact that gum disease can
cause havoc elsewhere in the body. It’s estimated that approximately 64
million adults 30 years and older have some form of gum disease. If not
treated early, surgical treatment is often needed.
Dr. Alan Timko, local periodontist, will present a program, that
explains the important relationship that gum health has to our overall
health and the relationship that gum disease has to other chronic
diseases such as diabetes and cardiovascular problems. Those who attend
the program will receive a voucher for a later complimentary evaluation
by appointment with Dr. Timko.
Registration is required for this free program. Please register online
or by contacting the Adult Services Department at 412-366-8100x113.
