Pittsburgh Woman Pleads Guilty To Capitol Riot Charge

WASHINGTON, D.C. — A suburban Pittsburgh woman has pleaded guilty to participating in the Jan. 6 Capitol insurrection.

Jennifer Heinl, 55, of Ross, pleaded guilty Tuesday in U.S. District Court in Washington, D.C. to one count of parading, demonstrating or picketing in a Capitol building. She faces up to six months in prison when she is sentenced in March.

“I just need to get over this and get kind of like some normalcy,” Heinl told U.S. District Judge Emmet Sullivan, according to the Courthouse News Service website. “I’m guilty, and I just want to get my life back.”

Heinl initially had been charged parading; knowingly entering or remaining in any restricted building or grounds without lawful authority; disorderly and disruptive conduct in a restricted building or grounds; and violent entry and disorderly conduct on Capitol grounds.

She was connected to the rioting via photos on the Facebook page of Kenneth Grayson of Bridgeville, who also is facing charges for participating in the riot.

According to federal court documents, capitol security camera footage also showed Heinl in the Capitol Crypt room during the insurrection.
