Pittsburgh's First LEGO Store Prepares To Open

LEGO lovers won't have to wait much longer for the store's local debut.

ROSS TOWNSHIP, PA - The wait is nearly over. Pittsburgh's first LEGO store, announced earlier this year, will open this month in Ross Park Mall, LEGO officials confirmed.

“Our store at Ross Park Mall will enhance our consumers’ overall LEGO brand experience through product variety, store design and regular hands-on family events,” Leslie Jenkins, senior director of LEGO Group, said in a statement. “Children and families will be able to experience first-hand and hands-on the creativity and imagination that goes into LEGO building and be inspired by the over 4 million LEGO bricks that are in the store at any given time.”

LEGO stores are staffed with "brick specialists" who help customers pick out the right set for them. The store also will feature a Pick & Build Wall in which people choose the bricks and elements they want in
various shapes and sizes.

The stores also feature digital boxes that enable customers to scan almost any boxed LEGO set and see the
model come to life in 3-D. The stores also have plenty of hands-on play opportunities for kids.
