Ross Police To Hold Gun Safety Seminar

The intent is to try to reduce the number of children killed each year with guns in their own homes.

ROSS TOWNSHIP, PA - Nearly 800 children and teens die each year from firearms that are kept in their homes. The Ross Police Department will attempt to combat that alarming statistic by holding a community gun safety meeting and discussion.

The event will be held June 9 from 10 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. in the township municipal center. Child care will be provided for those attending in the center’s active lounge.

The meeting will be centered around the Be SMART campaign undertaken by the organization Moms Demand Action For Gun Sense In America. The campaign focuses on education and awareness about child gun deaths and responsible gun storage.
