Ross Police: Man Dragged on McKnight Road Involved in Drug Deal

3 people are charged in the July 18 incident.

What was first described as a along McKnight road has now resulted in the arrest of three people, including the alleged victim, who was dragged by an SUV for nearly a half-mile.

said Andrew Kaltenbaugh, 19, of Bakerstown, met Brian Fish, 18, of Glenshaw, and an unidentified 17 year old near Ross Park Mall on July 18 for a drug deal.

Kaltenbaugh thought he was buying a half-pound of marijuana for $2,000, police allege. “The exchange took place but one party attempted to "rip off" the other by selling yard mulch instead of the marijuana,” said Ross Sergeant Benjamin Dripps.

Kaltenbaugh realized what had happened as Fish and the juvenile were beginning to .

“It was at that time that Andrew Kaltenbaugh followed the vehicle, approached the passenger side demanded his money back and attempted to enter the vehicle in order to grab the money,” said Dripps. “The vehicle continued its course of travel and Kaltenbaugh was eventually thrown from the vehicle causing serious injuries.”

Kaltenbaugh is charged with possession of drug paraphernalia, a misdemeanor. Fish and the juvenile are charged with aggravated assault and reckless endangering.

Fish is free on bond. The juvenile was taken to Schuman Detention Center. All are due in court next month.
