Ross Police to Cite Driver in Fiery Babcock Blvd. Accident

One of the victims remains in critical condition, a week after the accident.

plan to cite one of the drivers involved in a in the 5600 block of Babcock Boulevard.

"The driver of the BMW will be cited for careless driving and excessive speed," said Ross Police Sgt. Benjamin Dripps. "The BMW was heading up the hill toward McKnight Road when it crossed the center line and collided first with a silver Toyota Camry, and then a Toyota Yaris."

Two of the three vehicles caught fire as the result of the collision.

Two people were hurt, and although police initially thought the injuries weren't serious, the driver of the silver Toyota remains in a trauma unit in critical condition. His name, nor the names of the other two drivers, has been released.

Babcock Boulevard between Three Degree Road and Brown's Lane was closed for several hours while the wreckage was removed.

The accident also left an oily, slippery, sheen which required firefighters to spread anti-skid material on the road before it could be reopened.
