Ross is letting residents know how it will combat the serious winter storm about to hit the region. Get the details here.
ROSS TOWNSHIP, PA — As the region prepares for what could be the most potent snowstorm to hit in more than a decade, township officials have unveiled their storm preparation plans.
Although the snow is expected to begin falling Saturday night, public works crews are scheduled to begin operations early Sunday and continue working throughout the day and into Sunday night.
The township is asking residents not to park on the street if possible and not to plow or shovel snow into a roadway. Plow trucks should be given plenty of space to operate safely.

Crews will prioritize plowing all township roads. Salt will be applied primarily to hills and intersections, although salt is less effective during periods of frigid temperatures.
Once the storm has ended, crews will return Monday morning to apply a salt/anti-skid mixture to improve road conditions.

Because of the intensity of the weather event, roads will remain snow covered as the storm progresses.
Township officials urged people to have patience and allow crews appropriate time to complete each route.
They urged people to stay home if travel is not necessary. For those who must go out, township officials caution and allow for extra time.
