Second Friday Book Group*

This year the
Allegheny County Library Association has chosen Transatlantic by Colum
McCann for its yearly One Book, One Community selection. By encouraging
book groups and discussion groups all over the county to read and
discuss the same book, the program promotes the joy of reading and
sharing thoughts and impressions with others. McCann’s memorable novel
tells three intertwined stories set across different times and places
that tie real events in the history of Ireland with fact and fiction.
Seen through the eyes of outstanding women characters who are involved
in these historic events, McCann reminds us that life is hard, life is a
wonder and there is hope. Bring your brown bag lunch on and join us
