Second Round of North Hills Thunderstorms Topples High Voltage Power Line in Ross Neighborhood

The downed line traversed a ravine, sparking small fires.

For the second time today, a street in a neighborhood was closed after thunderstorms knocked a tree into a power line.

Utility workers and firefighters arrived to find the downed line between 113 and 115 Country Lane. The line carried electricity over a ravine located behind the properties.

Several shrubs were smoldering because of contact with the hot line, which was inches from the top of one of the homes. A slight breeze spread the smoke throughout the neighborhood.
