Toddler Girl Falls 15 Feet from Window in West View Apartment
The little girl's family says she is crying but conscious after the fall. Paramedics took her to Children's Hospital of Pittsburgh of UPMC to be examined.
A 20-month old girl fell approximately 15 feet from the first-floor window of a home at 254 Perry Highway in Monday night.
It appears a large, plastic garbage container broke her fall, preventing a serious injury.
Mary Hilty, the child's mother, said her daughter Olivia and the girl's 3-year old brother were playing on the living room couch, directly in front of a window.

"Apparently she or he knocked out the screen, and out she went," said Hilty. "She apparently landed on one of the trash cans in the driveway.”
The child's father rushed outside and found the little girl dazed but very much awake.

“She landed, and she was crying, we think she’s fine,” said Hilty. "She had some cuts on her arms but apparently nothing else."
Paramedics took the child to Children's Hospital of Pittsburgh of UPMC to be checked out.
