There's nothing like having a little red dress hanging in the closet to make a girl say yes to all holiday party invitations. Wear red and you will stand out.

In the sea of little black dresses, you will be that one perfect apple, or poppy or fire engine. When you wear red, you get to decide.

We found this bright gem at Treasure House Fashions on McKnight Road in McCandless. It has ruching at the waist (not that you need it), a bodice bedazzled with rhinestones and a halter-tie at the neck. When you spin around the dance floor, the handkerchief hem will go swish, swish, and all the other girls will wish, wish they were you.

The dress is a size small, which would fit about a Misses 6 or 8. It's made of a soft polyester and has the Trixxi label. It likely sold for more than $100 in the retail stores, but it's priced at $50 now. If you grab it soon, you will receive the 30 percent discount the store is offering, which brings the price to an insanely attractive $35.

Treasure House Fashions has petite, misses and plus-size clothing. The nonprofit store is open to the public, but it also provides shopping free of charge to women whom several local service agencies assist.

The store is on the ground floor of Andre Plaza, at the corner of McKnight Road and Babcock Boulevard.
