Video: It's 'Yes,'Yes' for North Hills Cast at Kelly Awards
Cast and company of "No, No, Nanette" rake in multiple honors at the 21st annual Pittsburgh CLO Gene Kelly Awards for excellence in high school musical theater.
senior Kirsten Hoover and other cast and company members of the school's production of "No, No, Nanette" won top honors on Saturday at the 21st annual Pittsburgh CLO Gene Kelly Awards.
Pittsburgh CLO and the University of Pittsburgh presented the awards for excellence in high school musical theater at the Benedum Center for the Performing Arts in Pittsburgh. Hoover took home the best actress award for her portrayal of Nanette. Best supporting actor honors went to Matt Augustyniak for his role as Billy Early and Stephanie Higgins, who played as Lucille Early.
Hoover and Central Catholic's Luke Halferty, who won the award for best actor, now will represent Pittsburgh on June 27 as they advance from the Kelly Awards to the third annual National High School Musical Theater Awards in New York City.

The North Hills company of "No, No, Nanette" also garnered Kelly Awards for best ensemble and best choreography. The awards are named for the "Singin' in the Rain" actor, dancer and choreographer Gene Kelly, who grew up and began his Academy Award-winning career in Pittsburgh.
Augustyniak and Hoover also received Pittsburgh CLO Gene Kelly Cash Scholarships and Constance T. Rockwell scholarships from the Pittsburgh CLO Guild. Hoover also received a four-year scholarship to study musical theater at Point Park University’s Conservatory of Performing Arts in Pittsburgh.
