4,000 Pounds of Copper Stolen from Slate Company
The following information was supplied by state police at Bethlehem.

Thieves took off with 3,000 to 4,000 pounds of copper from the Penn Big Ben Slate Company in Washington Township sometime between 4:30 p.m. on Sept. 21 and noon on Sept. 22.
State police at Bethlehem said the copper is valued at $30,000.

The thieves used a forklift to remove the copper from the company at 8450 Brown St., after forcing their way through a locked gate.
In another burglary in Washington Township, thieves took copper piping from a property at 6354 Route 873, sometime between 10 a.m. on Sept. 25 and 10 a.m. on Oct. 2.

The thieves entered the residence through a screen door to the porch.
Anyone with information on the burglaries is asked to call the state police at 610-861-2026.
