ANTHONY LUIZZA OF MORTGAGE NETWORK RECOGNIZED BY PENNSYLVANIA HOUSING FINANCE AGENCY
Veteran mortgage professional honored for helping borrowers into affordable loan programs
Anthony Luizza (NMLS # 460221), a senior loan officer in Mortgage Network Inc.’s Whitehall, Pennsylvania office, was recently named one of the top originators of mortgage programs with the Pennsylvania Housing Finance Agency (PHFA), which provides affordable financing options to qualified first-time and low- and moderate-income borrowers.
The agency recognized mortgage professionals based on the number of loans made under the agency’s program in 2015. Luizza began his career in mortgage lending in 1985 and joined Mortgage Network in 2012.
“It’s an honor and a privilege working with the PHFA to help otherwise worthy borrowers overcome the hurdles to homeownership,” Luizza said. “As home prices continue to rise throughout the state, affordability has become a major challenge for many would-be buyers. The PHFA’s mortgage programs are valuable tools for residents who have difficulty with down payment requirements or who face other obstacles to buying a home.”
One of the largest independent mortgage lenders in the eastern U.S., Mortgage Network was recently honored by the PHFA for having the fourth highest loan volume under the agency’s affordable mortgage program in 2015, up from sixth last year.
Created by state lawmakers in 1972, the PHFA works to provide affordable homeownership and rental housing options for older adults, low- and moderate-income families, and people with special housing needs. PHFA programs and operations are funded primarily by the sale of securities, not by public tax dollars.
