Charity Craft Sale at Egypt Star Bakery

9-Year-Old Sells her Arts and Crafts to Raise Money for Clean Water

Nine-year-old Ella Campbell-Becker is no average elementary student.  This dedicated young lady has been working for three years to help people a world away have a better life through clean water - the most basic of life’s necessities that as many as one billion people live without.  Through art sales and donations, Ella’s campaigns have raised enough money to help approximately 100 people gain access to clean and safe drinking water for the first time in their lives.  Every penny that she receives goes to charity: water, a NY based non-profit working to end the global water crisis.

Charity: water is known for it’s groundbreaking 100% Model that promises 100% of money donated from the public goes directly to the field to fund water projects.  These projects nclude drilling wells, installing water purification systems, and bio-sand filters, to name a few.  All operating expenses, from staff salaries to office supplies to credit card fees, are covered by private donors, foundations and sponsors.

Ella’s Art Sale for Clean Water will be held this Saturday, August 8, at Egypt Star Bakery, 2225 MacArthur Road, Whitehall from 10am - 4pm.  For more information on charity: water, or to make a donation tax-deductible donation online, go to www.my.charitywater.org/sparklingella
