LCCC Adjunct Wins Statewide Keystone Press Awards Competition
Lehigh Carbon Community College (LCCC) adjunct instructor Bruce Frassinelli has won second place in the statewide Keystone Press Awards competition, sponsored by the Pennsylvania News Media Association. Frassinelli was cited for three opinion columns he wrote on local issues for The Times News daily newspaper in Lehighton, Pa.
The Keystone Press Awards reinforces excellence by individuals in the news media profession by recognizing journalism that "consistently provides relevance, integrity and initiative in serving readers, and faithfully fulfills its First Amendment rights/responsibilities," according to Executive Director Melinda Conlon.
Frassinelli, who teaches a State and Local Government class on campus, is the retired publisher and editor of The Palladium-Times daily newspaper in Oswego, N.Y. Before his promotion to that position, he was the general manager and editor of The Express-Times in Easton. He also is senior columnist for Oswego County Business Magazine and 55 Plus, a senior citizens publication. In addition to the course he teaches at LCCC, he also teaches an online Communication Ethics course at the State University of New York at Oswego.
