LCCC Announces Allentown Promise Scholarship Program for June 2016 Graduates of high schools in the Allentown School District
Graduates of high schools in the Allentown School District will have access to a new scholarship to attend Lehigh Carbon Community College starting in the fall 2016 semester. Students who graduate from any of the high schools in the Allentown district in June can apply for the ASD Promise Scholarship, designed to make college possible regardless of income.
To be eligible for the funds, students must meet the requirements below. (Deadline for all paperwork is July 1.)
• Graduate from a high school in the Allentown School District in June 2016.

• Achieve a minimum 80 percent attendance during senior year of high school.
• Minimum grade point average of 2.50.

• Complete the ASD Promise Scholarship Application.
• Complete LCCC admissions application online (www.lccc.edu/future-students/apply-now).
• Complete a Statement of Residency form and submit it to the LCCC Business Office.
• File the Free Application for Federal Student Aid.
• Request high school transcripts be forwarded to LCCC Financial Aid Office.
• Enroll in an LCCC associate degree program with a minimum of 12 credits per semester.
• Maintain good academic standing and successfully complete at least 12 credits each semester.
This is a new scholarship program designed to specifically help graduates of high schools in the Allentown School District attend college at Lehigh Carbon Community College. The funds will cover classes taken at LCCC in the fall 2016 and spring 2017 semesters. The scholarship will be applied to the student account after all federal and state grants have already been applied.
Funds for the scholarship come from The Century Fund, with a matching grant from the Arcadia Foundation.
The college offers more than 90 different degree programs, so students will be able to select a program that meets their needs and that helps to fulfill their career and educational goals. Programs include those that will prepare students for immediate employment or for transfer to a four-year university to earn a bachelor’s degree.
