LCCC Faculty Selected 2017 Class Member of AAWCC

Dr. Betsy S. Swope, assistant professor of psychology at Lehigh Carbon Community College (LCCC), has been selected as a member of the second American Association for Women in Community Colleges (AAWCC) 40 Under 40 class. She was recognized at the AAWCC annual meeting April 24 in New Orleans.
Dr. Swope was recognized for her efforts to create, innovate, lead and make a difference at LCCC. She currently serves as president of the college’s Faculty Association, committed to serving her peers with a strong voice. Her focus is on creating a team-based environment where all members will learn, grow and respect each other. She also serves in the Academic Council and leads an accreditation task force on governance, leadership and administration.
She devotes significant time on community boards, including the Executive Education Academy Charter School, Southeastern Pennsylvania Autism Resource Center and the Eleanor and James Latta, Jr., Scholarship Foundation.

Dr. Swope, of West Chester, Pa., has been teaching at LCCC since 2010.
