LCCC Holds EMT Classes and Info Sessions

LCCC Holds EMT Classes and Info Sessions for Spring 2018, with info sessions starting Jan. 10.

Lehigh Carbon Community College (LCCC) will hold Emergency Medical Technician (EMT) training programs in both Lehigh and Schuylkill counties for individuals who are likely to respond to pre-hospital emergencies or those considering a medical career. Upon successful completion, students 18 years or older will be eligible to test for the National Registry EMT credential. Minimum age of 16 is required.

It is necessary for any interested candidate to attend one of the free information sessions at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday, Jan. 10 or 17. Both are held at The Emergency Medicine Institute (EMI) located at 2100 Mack Boulevard in Allentown.

Additional requirements include the submission of a physician release form and proof of medical insurance.

Two EMT Basic classes will be held in January. EMI will hold an evening class from 6:30 to 10 p.m. on Tuesdays and Thursdays, Feb. 5 through June 13, with several Saturday sessions. A fee of $1,050 does not include text or equipment.

A second class will be held at LCCC’s Morgan Center in Tamaqua for a fee of $1,200, which includes text. Class is offered from Jan. 7 through May 8, on Mondays and Wednesdays, from 6:30 to 9:30 p.m. and Saturdays from 9 a.m. to 12 p.m.
