LCCC Holds EMT Classes in Lehigh and Schulkill Counties

Lehigh Carbon Community College (LCCC) will hold Emergency Medical Technician (EMT) training programs for individuals who are likely to respond to pre-hospital emergencies or those considering a medical career. Minimum age of 16 is required. Upon successful completion, students 18 years or older will be eligible to test for the National Registry EMT credential.

It is highly recommended that interested candidates attend the free information sessions for the desired class location. Acceptance into the EMT program is selective and is based on minimum competency in reading and math assessments conducted at the class site. Additional requirements include the submission of a physician release form and proof of medical insurance.

EMT Basic classes are held at different locations in Lehigh and Schuylkill counties. Free information sessions will be held at Lehigh Valley Health Network Hospital, at the Joseph F. McCloskey School of Nursing located at 420 S. Jackson Street in Pottsville, Pa., on Aug. 22 and Aug. 29 at 7 p.m. The Schuylkill class runs Sunday, Sept. 9, 2018 through March 10, 2019 at a cost of $1,200 (text included).

The Emergency Medicine Institute (EMI) located at 2100 Mack Boulevard in Allentown will host free information sessions on July 11, July 24 and Aug. 2 at 7 p.m. The EMT Basic class in Lehigh County will be held Tuesdays, Thursdays and Saturdays, Sept. 4, 2018 through Jan. 17, 2019. Fee of $1,050 does not include text or equipment.
